Ground nutmeg is the product of grinding a seed that is produced by a tree known as the Fragrant Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans).
Myristica fragrans is a native tree of Indonesia, where we still source our raw product from to this day.
It has a pungent fragrance with a warm sweet taste. Commonly used to flavour many kinds of baked goods, desserts, meats, curries, vegetables and beverages, most famously eggnog.
Nutmeg has many health benefits, it contains compounds that act as antioxidants, antibacterial agents and anti-inflamatory compounds.
